Texas Personal Injury Lawyers Snellings Law PC
In the moments after a crash or other accident caused by someone else’s negligence, we all first look to make certain we and our loved ones do not have any life-threatening injuries. If we can see that is the case, there is usually an overwhelming sense of relief. That relief, however, is often short-lived. It does not take long for at-fault drivers or parties to begin shifting blame, insurance companies to start trying to put words in our mouths or minimize our injuries, and for bills to start showing up in the mailbox. If you or a loved one has been injured due to someone else’s negligence, you most likely have several question or concerns. Some of these may include:
· Who is going to pay for my medical bills?
· Why will my doctor not see me after I was injured in a car crash?
· How do I get medical treatment if I do not have health
insurance/cannot afford to pay my deductible?
· Should I speak to the insurance companies?
· How do I set up a claim?
· Do I need an attorney and how much does that cost?
At Snellings Law PC, our practice focuses solely on personal injury claims. We defend our clients from insurance companies and adjusters trying to limit their claims on a daily basis. We have successfully handled cases of all sizes, up to and including, catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims. If you or a loved one has been injured due to someone else’s negligence, call Snellings Law PC to set up your free consultation today.

FAQs: What to Do If You Have Been Injured in an AccidentQ: What evidence should I try to collect at the scene of the accident?
If you are not too injured to do so, there are some important pieces of evidence you should try to collect at the scene of the accident. These include:
- Photos –Take pictures of the scene of the accident, the surrounding area, the weather conditions, your injuries, any property damage (including vehicle damage), and anything else that you think might be relevant to your claim for compensation.
- Your Personal Items – If any of your personal items were damaged in the accident, make sure you keep them with you to give to your attorney.
- Insurance, Vehicle, and Contact Information – If you were injured in a motor vehicle accident, ask for the other driver’s insurance information and write down his or her license plate number. If you were injured in a fall or a dog attack, try to make sure you know the address of the location where the incident occurred.
- Witnesses’ Email Addresses and Phone Numbers – If anyone witnessed the accident, politely ask for their email addresses and phone numbers. Their statements could be critical to proving your claim for financial compensation.
If it is too late (or if you are too injured), that is okay. But, we would urge you to seek legal representation as soon as possible so that any available evidence can be collected before it disappears.
Q: I feel okay, should I still go to the hospital?
Yes. After any type of traumatic accident, it is critical to seek medical attention as soon as possible. You could have serious internal injuries, and your medical records will be essential evidence in your claim for compensation.
Q: What should (and shouldn’t) I say to the insurance companies?
If you were injured in a motor vehicle accident, it is okay to report the accident to your insurer (in fact, you may have an obligation to do so). But, you should not say anything else, and you should not give a recorded statement that the insurance companies can find a way to use against you.
Q: What other mistakes do I need to avoid?
Avoiding mistakes is one of the most important things you can do to protect your rights after an accident. For example, in addition to avoiding the insurance companies, you should also avoid posting about the accident on social media. For free advice tailored to your personal circumstances, we encourage you to schedule a free consultation.
Q: How much does it cost to hire an attorney? Is it worth it?
Our firm handles all cases on a contingency-fee basis. This means that (i) you pay nothing up front, (ii) you do not pay hourly rates, and (iii) you do not pay anything at all unless we help you secure just compensation. When we take a case, it is because we believe we can recover far more than our client would be able to recover without legal representation.

Texas Personal Injury Lawyers Car Accidents
Every day Texans are seriously injured in car wrecks. Most of the time, these wrecks were entirely preventable. If you, or a loved one is injured due to the negligence of another, it is important that you seek immediate medical treatment. It is simply not enough to make a claim with the other driver’s insurance company and wait to see if it you feel any better. What many Texans do not realize is your delay in treatment will be used by the other driver’s insurance company and its team of lawyers to later argue that you were not injured. This is what we refer to as the “Delay, Deny and Defend.”
During the Delay phase, the other driver’s insurance company is very sympathetic and caring. They kindly ask you if they can take your recorded statement. They do not tell you that all of the questions they ask you are designed to avoid liability and put as much blame on you as possible. They also do not tell you that their recorded statement with their client, the other driver, is chalked full of suggestive reasons on why you were somehow equally to blame for being rear-ended. After the recorded statement, the adjuster advises you to send in all your medical bills so they can adequately evaluate your claim.
Traumatic Brain Injuries
More than 5.3 million Americans are currently living with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs). And this year alone, at least 2.5 million others will sustain a new TBI that may leave them with long-term – if not permanent or life-threatening – health complications.1
While these TBI facts are grim, they pale in comparison to the impacts of serious TBIs – and the fact that, in many cases, traumatic brain injuries would have been preventable if someone else had simply been more careful, responsible, and/or attentive.
